High School Ireland

InterStudies. Inspiring to make a difference

Your High School Year

Experience Ireland with InterStudies

A High School year with InterStudies is an amazing opportunity to experience the Irish culture at first hand.

You’ll live with a family and attend a local school alongside local students and other InterStudies exchange students. You’ll learn, explore and have fun. When you go home you’ll have grown as a person; you’ll understand a different culture, speak fluent English, and you’ll have gained experience and knowledge that will stay with you for the rest of your life.

Life on exchange

Your home away from home

Our first priority is to select the right host family for each of our students

Who will you live with?

Our specially chosen host families are warm, welcoming and friendly. You will be treated as a member of the family, welcomed into the home and involved in all aspects of family life.
There’s no typical host family – just like there is no typical family. Every one is different. What each of our host families has in common is a desire to learn about a student and their culture, while giving a young person the chance to experience life and learning in Ireland.

Our families

Each and every host family undergoes a through application process and is interviewed by an InterStudies Local Support Coordinator before being accepted as an InterStudies host family. Many of our families have hosted with us for years; we know which student will fit with which family and we place a lot of importance on making a good match.

A long-lasting relationship

Students often form a close relationship with their host family and keep in touch for many years, with some returning to visit year after year, or inviting their host family to visit them in their home country.

Student Support

With you all the way

At InterStudies we take student support very seriously. Going on exchange is a big step. It is important to us that our students can always come to us for help and support, just as we know that their parents at home must be able to relax in the knowledge that their son or daughter is supported throughout their high school experience

We have a unique three-tier system to make sure that we can provide the right level of support for each and every one of our students. Each student is allocated a Local Support Coordinator (LSC) who is there to help and guide them throughout the programme and who can provide everyday assistance and advice. Students can also contact our Student Ambassador who is there to help when you might want to speak with someone who is not so close to home. Our head office support team is also there to assist and all students and host families have access to our 24-hour emergency service if urgent assistance is required outside office hours.

We have just launched the first version of new InterStudies app, which is available to all students. This provides support information, news and trip information in one easy- to-use tool and it’s great way to get in touch quickly and easily.
